The best thing about my adoption journey: my sons.
The second best thing about my adoption journey: the friends I've made.
When I brought my son home for Korea, I thought my little Korean cupcake was going to be the only real "addition" to my life. I had no idea that the other mothers I would meet through adoption would becomes such a special, important part of my life.
I'm grateful that the biggest blessing in my life has ushered in so many others.
I couldn't agree more! I've been very appreciative lately of all the wonderful friends Spencer has brought into my life. Blessings for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh C, I feel the same way! ADOPTION ROCKS! ;)
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, without you, I wouldn't have met all of the women who are now so important in my life. Thank you.
We agree - the blessings abound to include so much more than our children: many friends, a country that we love, new culture to explore and learn, and so much more.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Thank you for being one of the friends I count myself lucky enough to have!
ReplyDeleteSoon as I saw your post title, I got chills. I NEVER expected to make the friends I/we did through adoption. Sure, maybe people I like and see occasionally...but not this awesome group of ladies that truly are my friends. So glad and thankful that you are one of them!
ReplyDeleteRight back at ya! So glad that I've gotten the chance to know you and become friends!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more, C! I'm sure this weekend reminded you even more of this fact. Btw, I noticed the "_______" in Sue's FB post too. Was this a GBFGT 2011 inside joke thing going on? :)
ReplyDeletei got chills when i read your post too!!! so true. adoption has blessed our families in so many wonderful ways.
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same way. I never expected to meet so many great friends because of Joel!
ReplyDeleteWe feel the same way too....I never imagined that this process would open up an entirely new world to us. We now have such a great support system in place - whether through friends we see in person or those we will likely never meet. The 2 families that we traveled to Korea with will be lifelong friends which is something that we NEVER expected.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Cori...
Totally agree...I have been amazed at the friends I have made through adopting Joel. My husband laughs at me when I mention my adoption friends...he says, you mean your "virtual online buddies"...He's just jealous he hasn't found that community yet. =)
