Peace Out, Omma

My in-laws are in town and my sister-in-law was also in town this weekend. Usually when we have people in our home, especially people who want to love on Little Bug, he gets a little weird or clingy. Honestly, it's always been a bit of an ego boost when people come around and he rejects them in favor of Appa and I.

Oh how the proud fall.

My little bug probably needs a new nickname...social butterfly. His activity level is usually on the low end of normal, but with his dotting grandparents and aunt around...he was ON all weekend long and was going, going, going. I'm pretty sure my wood floors have ruts from his constant mall walking back and forth between the three of them. There was just so much peek-a-boo, talking, teasing, tongue wagging, and sun glass wearing to be had and so many willing participants. Our walls are still ringing from his peels of laughter.

Sure, Little Bug included Appa and I in the fun, but it wasn't in a clingy sort of way I have been used to. He's more confident and comfortable (for a 2-year-old), and as much as I might secretly miss the cling, I was so proud to see him making relationships and truly engaging adults without any help from Appa or I.

The other plus....he tantrums a whole lot less in front of others. Gotta keep up the macho facade, I suppose. You never know when a pretty little girl might be watching...
