Productive

In the last week I've felt the anxiety and obsession with the wait reach a new level.  I decided instead of writing about it, I was going to sit in silence.  Instead of stalking the forums and message boards (although, don't get me wrong, I've still got my finger firmly on happenings there), I channeled my energy into making a dent in the things that were stressing me out.

And there are plenty.

So this week, instead of blogging, I painted Little Bug's new big boy room after he went to sleep and wrote letters to my son's birth mothers.  I shopped for gifts.  I wrote three blog posts and didn't push publish on any of them just because I wasn't feeling it. I watched Little Mermaid with Little Bug over and over.  I didn't catch up on e-mails and I didn't pour over videos and pictures of Little Bug or highlight sentences in my toddler adoption book.  I didn't respond to many blog or Facebook posts. I read Rainbow Valley by Lucy Maude Montgomery and watched the train-wreck third movie in the Anne of Green Gables series.

All in all, a productive week spent doing something other than obsessing.

  3. The movie is hard to look away from. On one hand the plot is just HORRIBLE and poor MF looks like she aged about a million years (why could they not find a better makeup artist or something). BUT, Gilbert has aged beautifully and Gilbert in uniform is nicey nice.

    Gilbert....swoon.

I need to go read Anne of the Island again just to get some semblance of quality back after watching that movie.

  6. L.M. Montgomery sounds wonderful to me! My oldest daughter just appropriated my Kindle when she discovered I could download all eight Anne books for free. Kindle apparently makes my childood hip :). P.S. Kindle does not rate compared to an IRL book. But it was a very handy way to carry a bunch of books on a trip to Korea!
