Motivation

It's amazing how a child changes every fiber of your being. I have moments when I want to "lose it" for a variety of reasons. I want to crawl in a ball and cry, call in sick and veg out at home, sleep the day away, or just have a plain old hissy fit. 11.5 months ago I would have fit that urge into my life in some way.

Now, when I have those urges, I think of Little Bug and everything I want becomes secondary. Little Bug deserves to have a mom who holds it together, who is responsible, who is a good example of how to handle stress and life challenges. Calling in sick to lay in bed and wallow is decidedly not a good example. His innocent love and trust are my motivations to strive harder, to be better. It's assumed that parents shape who their children become, but I have to say

Little Bug is shaping an awful lot of who I am becoming.
